Karen I’m working at a new school now and have years of signage work for you!
School Signage Project: Oxley Park Academy & Nursery, Milton Keynes
I had worked with Noel, the extremely creative Executive Principal at Oxley Park Academy & Nursery, across three other schools before he called one day to say he was starting at a new two-site school and would need lots of new signage!
With one campus established and the other fairly new at the time, there was plenty to do – and the projects have been phased over the years as the school has grown and developed.
We started with the core signs: branded outdoor wayfinding signage to help identify areas of the school, values signs for the halls, year group welcome signs, class name signs, behaviour signs for individual classrooms and meeting room signage.
From there we moved on to educational signs for various areas across the school. This included displays for the Fab 5 Habits – both hanging and wall-mounted versions, house logos and banners for the hall, Love Reading signs to encourage reading throughout the school, and STEM hanging and wall signs.
A Nursery Village was created, complete with a new logo. Fences in the nursery area were decorated with cartoon houses, flowers and street name signs, with parking and petrol pump signs for the garage area, and police and fire station signs too.
Large 1800mm tall zone marker pins were created to identify different areas across the site. Traditional corridor displays were replaced with modern corridor display boards for each subject, making it easy to display curriculum topics and pupils work, and reducing staff workload in the process.
These are just some of the projects we have worked on together and the signage work at Oxley Park Academy continues as new areas and ideas develop.
